C STOKES & CO PTY LTD - MOVE and MERGER

The main news this month is about ourselves.

Those of you who have regular imports by air will know that customs clearance of these is generally handled by Customs Air Clearances Pty Ltd (CAC) on behalf of Stokes.

Stokes owns 50% of CAC, with the other 50% being owned by Edgar Bell Pty Ltd.

As well as our 45 year association with Edgar Bell & Co through common ownership of CAC, Charles Stokes snr. worked for Edgar Bell for 7 years before founding what is now C Stokes & Co Pty Ltd on 1 February 1899.

We are now putting all three companies together in a three step process.

Step 1 Stokes moves to Chetwynd Street, West Melbourne. Click here to download a PDF containing the moving details.

Step 2 Edgar Bell and CAC join us in Chetwynd Street two weeks later.

Step 3 At the beginning of May, the three companies are combined into one:- STOKES and BELL Pty Ltd

The Australian Customs website gives a vast amount of information including Australian Customs Notices and Australian Customs Dumping Notices for this year and previous years.

To view the Customs Notices go to www.customs.gov.au, click on import/export, then on customs notices, then on the notices you want. If you wish to discuss a particular subject please call the Broker you normally work with.
